35TH PARALLEL MEDITERRASIAN JAZZ ENSEMBLE

35th Parallel expands their concert offerings with the MediterrAsian Jazz Ensemble, a dynamic group of performers bridging the musical traditions of the Middle East, India, and Western Jazz.

This 5-piece ensemble features the core duo of Mac Ritchey and Gabe Halberg along with percussionist Todd Roach and horn players Brian Boyes and Zach Tonnissen. Seven Days reviewer Casey Rea writes: "The result of this new union is pure sonic sorcery."

The band had its first performance in February 2004, commissioned by the Flynn Center for the Performing Arts in Burlington VT. Other performances include the Hopkins Center for the Performing Arts in Hanover NH, The DeCordova Museum in Lincoln MA, and the Bioneers 'Connecting for Change' Conference.
